Market Street |
||||||
Market Street was built in 1840. It connects Grainger Street with Pilgrim Street.
The building on the right is the Central Exchange, which was built between 1836 and 1838, and rebuilt internally in 1905 after a fire. The design was based on the Temple of Vesta at Tivoli and was originally planned as a commodity exchange. It now houses the magnificent Central Arcade with its beautiful faience tile work. |
